Residential Property Lawyer
Location: Buckinghamshire Area

The Role:
A rapidly growing, forward-thinking law firm in the Buckinghamshire area is seeking an experienced and proactive Residential Property Lawyer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of residential property transactions, from inception to completion, ensuring clients receive a seamless and efficient service throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the conveyancing process for freehold and leasehold sales and purchases.
  • Oversee remortgages, newbuild purchases, shared ownership transactions, and transfer of equity matters.
  • Handle first registrations, assents, and the repayment of Help to Buy loans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files, including electronic records, in compliance with firm policies and case management systems.
  • Take ownership of residential conveyancing files from opening to closure, ensuring all stages are completed efficiently.
  • Prepare client care documentation and manage client onboarding processes.
  • Draft contract packs for property sales and handle pre-contract enquiries, liaising with clients and third parties for responses.
  • Perform title checks, raise enquiries, and conduct searches on property purchases.
  • Report to clients on title and search results and provide detailed reports on mortgage documents.
  • Review replies to enquiries and provide thorough updates to clients.
  • Finalize contracts and arrange for client signatures.
  • Liaise with management companies or landlords for pre-exchange and post-completion formalities.
  • Coordinate the exchange of contracts, post-exchange formalities, and completion processes.
  • Handle post-completion tasks such as registration and liaising with management companies or landlords.
  • Close files and review the financial ledger, ensuring full compliance with the firm’s procedures.
  • Report to the Head of Department and meet individual financial targets.
  • Engage in business development activities to build your caseload and contribute to the firm’s revenue growth.

What We’re Looking for:

  • 2-5 years PQE in Residential Conveyancing, with experience managing a diverse caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of the residential property process and the ability to manage all stages of a transaction.
  • IT proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and case management systems.
  • Client-facing experience, including meeting clients in person, with a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
  • Eagerness to grow professionally and expand your legal expertise.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of your caseload.

Location:
Candidates will need to be based in or able to commute easily to locations within the Buckinghamshire area.
