Job Description

An elite Silver Circle law firm is looking to hire a talented Associate with 3–6 years’ post-qualification experience to join its growing Structured & Specialty Finance practice. This is a standout opportunity for a lawyer seeking hands-on responsibility, exposure to cutting-edge work, and the chance to make a visible impact as part of a collaborative, high-performing team.

About the Firm

The firm has a longstanding reputation for excellence across a range of international and UK-based legal matters. It is especially well-regarded in sectors such as asset management, complex corporate transactions, and high-value dispute resolution. The client base is diverse, ranging from global investment firms and financial institutions to fast-growth private enterprises and listed companies operating across multiple jurisdictions.

The culture is built around legal excellence, genuine collaboration, and creating an environment where people thrive professionally while enjoying their work.

The Opportunity

The Structured & Specialty Finance group is a key part of the wider Finance division, which also covers areas such as leveraged lending, real estate finance, restructuring, and fund finance. The team works on sophisticated financing structures involving pools of loans and receivables, advising on everything from traditional securitisation to bespoke forward-flow arrangements and complex portfolio transactions.

You’ll advise on deals across various asset types—mortgages (residential and commercial), auto finance, consumer credit, bridging and development loans, non-performing assets, and more. While some background in securitisation is ideal, the team is equally open to candidates from a broader structured finance background who want to deepen their expertise.

There is also optional crossover with the firm’s Fund Finance practice, especially where transactions involve structured NAV or ABL facilities for private equity, credit, and real estate funds.

Why Join?

  • Be part of an ambitious, expanding practice working on some of the most innovative financing structures in the market.
  • Work closely with supportive and hands-on partners, with direct exposure to clients and deal leadership.
  • Access a strong internal support network, including leading teams in derivatives and funds for cross-practice work.
  • Play a central role in the growth of the team, with real opportunity to contribute to strategy and business development.
  • Receive tailored career support, including one-to-one BD coaching and internal mentoring.
  • Join a firm that invests in people, offering flexibility, personal growth, and an inclusive working culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead or support on drafting, negotiating, and finalising documentation for complex structured finance deals.
  • Handle facility agreements, term sheets, intercreditor arrangements, security packages and other core documents.
  • Work with colleagues across the firm on cross-practice matters, particularly in funds and structured products.
  • Coordinate with international counsel on multi-jurisdictional transactions.
  • Mentor more junior team members and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Assist in developing client relationships and driving new opportunities for the practice.

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 3–6 years’ PQE, ideally gained at a leading City or international law firm.
  • Experience in structured finance or securitisation, with the ability to handle technical work and commercial considerations confidently.
  • Excellent drafting and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
  • A collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to take ownership and show initiative.
  • Enthusiasm for complex finance work and a desire to be part of a fast-paced, high-growth team.
  • Strong academic background.
