The Opportunity

A respected regional law firm is seeking a Trusts Lawyer with 2 to 6 years’ PQE to join their established Wills, Trusts & Probate team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a specialism in trusts within a supportive environment that prioritises career progression and work/life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and preparing Deeds of Retirement and Appointment of Trustees
  • Preparing Deeds of Appointment of trust assets from Discretionary Trusts
  • Managing trust setups including drafting documentation and asset transfers
  • Preparing Declarations of Trust to define beneficial interests in property
  • Registering trusts with HMRC via the Trust Registration Service
  • Advising trustees and beneficiaries on the effect and taxation of Bare Trusts, Life Interest Trusts, and Discretionary Trusts
  • Working independently with supervision and mentoring to manage casework and maintain high standards

About You

  • Qualified solicitor with 2-6 years PQE, ideally with STEP membership or willingness to work towards it
  • Genuine interest in trusts law and keen to develop expertise in trust structures and taxation
  • Solid understanding of trust lifecycles including setup, administration, and termination
  • Able to work independently while appreciating supervision and quality checks
  • Strong client service focus with excellent attention to detail and case management skills
  • A positive, team-oriented professional with sound judgment and risk awareness
